The New York Rangers’ rookie third line center, Oscar Lindberg, has been named the NHL’s 2nd star of the week.
The 23 year old from Sweden has certainly made his presence known and has certainly impressed the coaching staff. In the first three games of the season, Lindberg has 4 goals (which is tied for the league lead).
His offensive prowess has definitely helped propel the Rangers to their hot start (3-0-0, 6 points) and his line consisting of J.T. Miller and Viktor Stalberg have been one of the most noticeable lines on the ice every night. In his second career NHL goal, Lindberg scored the first goal of the Rangers’ 2015-2016 season and the first of his career against the Chicago Blackhawks. He then scored his second goal (the game-tying goal) in as many games this season against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Finally, in the Home Opener, Lindberg added a pair of goals to lift the Rangers to a 3-0 start to the season.
